Vera Bradley Bird

Good Ash Wednesday morning,
Lots going on this month. I've been busy creating many new things in preparation for the shows and classes I'll be attending. I think perhaps I'll contact Vera Bradley and see what they do with their cut offs and maybe together we could do a promotion to serve some charitable organizations. Not yet posted to gpurse.com, but if interested in purchasing one, please contact me via email at green.purse79@yahoo.com, cost is $18. Until Sunday then!

Bookworm Gardens

Good morning all,
Looking for something fun to do? How about joining me at Bookworm Gardens for a purse making class? Executive Director Deb Denzer and I thought the pocket purse would be a great project to start out with what we hope to be a multitude of classes this year. Pictured is a purse made from a pair of old jeans, but any pockets work nicely. Below is the link to sign up. Hope to see you on April 2nd. Happy, happy week!

Pick me, pick me!

Good morning all,
I was sent an invitation last week to enter a contest for design. The store is US Trendy and the prize is $1000 cash and $1000 to use to promote your product. You can enter up to five items and naturally I did. It's a cool site and I plan to visit it daily to scope out the competition. I'm hoping my blog today will get me at least one vote...so Mom, here is the link.http://www.ustrendy.com/spring-competition Happy, happy week!

Key to My Heart

Good morning all,
These necklaces may have been a great item to advertise for Valentine's Day using the title of my blog as the name. I've been told not to do the things in your own business you don't like in others. For example, I can't stand it when they say free up front only to find out after filing out a lengthy form or jumping through hoops, there are taxes, fees, shipping, handling, etc. I also get frustrated when I'm shopping for a summer dress and all I can find are Christmas ornaments and winter coats. That being said, I pretty much suck at getting my creations out to the public in a timely manner. Oh well, there is always next year and another holiday. I'll work on that. Zipper and key products can now be found on gpurse.com as well as Re-Cards™ greeting cards. As always, your comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Happy, happy week!

Zip it, Zip it good!

Good morning all,
After replacing the zipper on my sons leather coat, it made me think of what happens to zippers once they wreck! They are quite ingenious but there is no repairing them, only replacing them. And believe me, once they go, there're gone. Anyway, it got me thinking. I saved it and called Ardnt's, a local zipper shop. They did indeed have some they had been saving for a gal who made pins out of them. (she hadn't been in for a while, so they agreed to hand them over to me) That got me thinking some more. I started moving the zippers around placing them with different fabrics, trying to figure out a good design. I originally wanted to use only zippers, but as I found out like with the belts, it makes the purse to heavy. Then it came to me...Ties! Then more ideas started to erupt! Pictured is a handbag, ring, necklace and cuff bracelet. So new are these zipper products, they are not yet on gpurse.com. We hope to get to that this week. If you must have one NOW, email me! green.purse79@yahoo.com. The purse has since been donated to the Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation for a silent auction. Best of luck to them in April. Happy, happy Valentine's and happy, happy week!

Go Pack Go

Good morning all,
It's been a long wait, but after 13 years, the Packers will be Super Bowl champs once again. That's my prediction anyway. Although I did have a dream last night we lost, only I didn't get to see much of the game because I was cooking and when I did look up to see, a TV anchor was making a statement about the Bears win. Good thing my dreams are not a look into the future! Just a few Packers items left and after their win today, they surely will be gone. Go Pack Go! Happy, happy week!
