Sweater Headband

Hi everybody!

I am clearly on a sweater kick! I was commissioned last week to make a headband to match a pair of mittens I made the week before. I did not have enough of the the orange sweater, so had to add other colors to make up the deficit. Next week I hope to be on to another project that doesn't involve a sweater, but hey, you never know what inspiration may come my way! (Kinda hard to take selfies with an iPad! You need two hands!)

Sweater Scarf

Hi everybody!

As busy as we have been over the last few months, I still manage to keep Saturday's as what I refer to as my "goof off day". About five years ago I made a quilt using wool scraps. It turned out really cool and I have always wanted to make another. Not having a lot of time to commit to such an undertaking, I decided to scale it down and make a scarf. I was very tempted to keep it for myself, but resisted. Very fashionable and super warm, only $40. Our winter gear is flying off the shelf, and today I hope to get at least a few mittens done. Sweater Bag

At it's inception, Greenpurse had a line of five purses, one being The Possible Bag and another The Sweater Bag. Pictured is a combination of the two. Today's post is a reminder to all that we can create one of a kind custom pieces made from your sentimental items. Pictured is a frame made for a customers mother from her grandfathers sweatshirt. I crocheted these flowers while tending our booth at the fair way back in early September and I finally finished them this morning. Pig Pad or Big Bib

Hi Everybody,

Today I'm asking for your feedback on a name for a newly developed product. A customer of mine had the idea to make bibs for guys. It is two sided, twill on one side fleece on the other. Other fabric designs to come! 

He claims every shirt he owns is stained and feels this may be just the ticket for the man who has coffee on his way to work every morning and has had a mishap or two. Your comments and suggestions are welcome. Happy, happy week!

Vinca Vine Wreaths

Hi Everybody,

I can't resist repurposing and at the end of each summer I preserve all my vinca vines and make wreaths. They look great just about anywhere for any season. Just change out the bow for different looks for different occasions or we can make one in the color of your choice. They last for years and are only $8. New Design

Good morning all,

Things have slowed down juuuuuuuuuuust a tad hopefully allowing me to make a couple new purse designs each week. I just had time for one last Saturday and will try hard to get at least one done today. Two inside zipper pockets and zipper handle. Approximately 8"x8" closed. Good Gourd Almighty

Good morning all,

After two years in my basement, the gourds Bella and I planted are ready. They get reay gross and moldy which is what gives them the look of marble. I scrubbed them and them gave them a bleach bath to kill any remaining mold. Today's post is the before and next weeks will be the after. Many years ago I saw a drum used as a planter and have been looking for instruments since to produce my own creations. Three weeks ago we hosted a Girl Scout troop of eight for a Project Party. They did two projects, a cloth rose and tuna can vase. Popcorn and Kool-aid was served mid session and is included free of charge. Everyone had a great time including the moms and me! A Little Birdie Told Me

Love Me Knot

Good morning all,
In my travels on the international highway I came across a photo of  a pillow that looked like a Celtic knot. I thought it was so cool I had to make one and they shall be named Love me knot pillows. I'd like to try a few other kinds of knots, but only had time for one yesterday. It wasn't easy turning the eight yards of fabric right side out and stuffing it took quite a while. Then there was tying the knot. It took a few try's before I got it just right. Now that I've got one under my belt, I feel others will go a bit quicker. Lamp Kick

As promised another lamp! The idea came to me in an instant when I was putting a belt on a bean bag  purse for a customer. The zipper lamp is gone, and the belt lamp has taken its place. Take a Look in the Mirror

I finished two zipper projects this week and today's post is about the mirror. I know I'm not the best photographer, but mirrors are hard to shoot! You are either taking a photo of yourself taking the photo or capturing all the stuff reflecting in the mirror! Anyway, I hope I did it justice. Booze Box Bird House

Good morning all,
Thanks to everyone who stopped yesterday for our T-shirt event. Next month a brand new vendor will be showcasing her designs. So mark your calendars for April 12th!
A sister gave me this box a number of years ago (I'm not sure how she acquired it as she does not drink, anyway,) and always thought I could do something with it. I've been noticing on my daily walks the birds becoming very active. A true sign of Spring! All the singing reminded me of the box and how it would make a terrific high rise for a young family. This cute bird house and more are now again available at the studio. Happy, happy week!

Today's post is about recycling old jars and containers. Every time I finish a bottle of just about anything, I want to keep it. Zippers All Around

Good morning all,
Two weeks ago I had a customer show me a couple cases she just loves. They were one continuos zipper sewn into a bag. I thought I would give it a whirl and in the photo you see the results of my efforts. It was not easy to assemble and I'm not sure I am totally pleased with the final product or if I will carry them in the store. Nonetheless, here it is! Happy, happy week!!!

When I first started making purses under the Greenpurse label, I was making them out of everything I could find I didn't use or was in disrepair? One of my favorites, is the one pictured here. (I used mine so much I wore it out!) As tempted as I am to snatch it up for myself, it is for sale in the studio. Interior pocket, zipper closure with a belt handle and just $32! Tie One On

Good morning all,
Another cold and snowy day here in Wisconsin! I just had a gal in yesterday looking for some winter gear and informed me there was not much to be found. No worries! We will continue to carry a selection hats, scarves and mittens as long as the snow flies.

I finished my last purse for an order going to California yesterday. My Greenpurse Tie One On bags have been the most popular in that region and we are hoping it spreads east. We have several in the studio at this time with more to come. Thank you Summer and Carla! Happy, happy week!
